Article 1 — Purpose and scope
These general terms and conditions of sale (the “Terms”) govern distance sales of products concluded on the website of GLOBTROTT RETAILS between GLOBTROTT RETAILS (“Globtrott Retails”, “we”, “us”), and any natural person purchasing for purposes that fall outside the scope of their commercial, industrial, craft, professional or agricultural activity (the “customer”, “you”).
The website is intended for consumers residing in metropolitan France. To place an order, you must be of legal age and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
Any order requires prior acceptance of the Terms, by ticking a checkbox before payment. The applicable Terms are those in force on the date of your order. They are accessible at any time on this page, and you may save or print them.
The contract is concluded in the French language.

Article 3 — Products
Nature of the products
Globtrott Retails sells new products from well-known brands (games and toys, personal care, beauty, home, office supplies, car accessories, etc.). Globtrott Retails is an independent reseller: it is neither an official distributor nor a partner of the brands concerned (see Article 12).
Essential characteristics
The essential characteristics of each product are set out on its product page. We make every effort to ensure that descriptions and photographs are as accurate as possible. Please read the product page carefully before ordering.
Product condition
All our products are new and have never been used. Each product page states their condition:
- New: product in its intact original packaging;
- New · damaged packaging: new, complete product whose packaging alone shows defects (crushed corners, tears, storage marks);
- New · open box: new, complete product whose box has been opened, for example to check the contents.
The condition and, where applicable, details of the packaging defects are stated on the product page and shown again before payment. They do not limit the legal guarantee of conformity or the right of withdrawal.
Foreign editions
Some products are editions intended for another country (for example, packaging or a toy in German). This is always stated on the product page, before purchase.
Product safety
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety, the page of each product states, in particular, the name and contact details of the manufacturer (and, where applicable, of the person responsible in the European Union), the information enabling the product to be identified, and the applicable warnings and safety instructions.
For toys, the warnings required by the regulations (for example, the minimum recommended age) are displayed on the product page before purchase. Please observe them.
In the event of a product recall, Globtrott Retails informs the customers concerned whose contact details it holds. Official recalls are published on the French public website Rappel Conso (rappel.conso.gouv.fr).
Availability
Products are offered while stocks last. If a product becomes unavailable after you have placed your order, we will inform you by email without delay and refund the corresponding amounts within 14 days at the latest.
Article 4 — Prices
Prices are stated in euros, inclusive of all taxes (TTC), including French VAT. They do not include delivery charges, which are shown before the order is confirmed, in the basket and then at the delivery step.
The applicable price is the price displayed when you confirm your order. Globtrott Retails may change its prices at any time, without affecting orders already confirmed.
Where a price reduction is announced, the reference price is the lowest price charged by Globtrott Retails during the 30 days preceding the reduction, in accordance with Article L112-1-1 of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation).
In the event of an obvious clerical error in the display resulting in a derisory price, the order may be cancelled in accordance with Article 1169 of the French Civil Code (Code civil). You will then be informed and refunded in full.
Article 5 — Orders
Ordering steps
Orders are placed without creating a customer account. The ordering process comprises the following steps:
- Selecting products and adding them to the basket.
- Reviewing the basket: you can change quantities or remove a product.
- Choosing the delivery method and, where applicable, the pickup point.
- Entering your details: surname, first name, email address, telephone number, delivery and billing addresses.
- Checking the order summary (products, quantities, total price, delivery charges), accepting the Terms by ticking the box provided, then clicking the “Order and pay” button.
- Payment on the secure page of our payment service provider, Stripe.
- Display of a confirmation page and sending of a confirmation email.
Checking and correcting your order
Before confirming, you can check the details and the total price of your order and correct any input errors by going back to the previous steps (Article 1127-2 of the French Civil Code).
Obligation to pay
Clicking the “Order and pay” button constitutes an order with an obligation to pay, within the meaning of Article L221-14 of the French Consumer Code.
Conclusion of the contract and confirmation
The contract is concluded when payment is accepted. You will then receive, without delay, a confirmation email summarising your order. If you do not receive it, check your spam folder, then contact us.
Refusal or cancellation of an order
Globtrott Retails may refuse or cancel an order for a legitimate reason, in particular in the event of suspected fraud, refused payment or an unresolved previous dispute. Any amounts debited are then refunded in full.
Archiving
For any order amounting to €120 or more, including VAT, Globtrott Retails keeps the written record of the contract for 10 years and guarantees you access to it upon simple request (Article L213-1 of the French Consumer Code).
Article 6 — Payment
The price is payable in full when the order is placed. Payment is made on a secure payment page hosted by our payment service provider, Stripe.
The following are accepted: bank cards (CB, Visa, Mastercard) and, depending on whether they are enabled and on your device, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the other payment methods displayed on the payment page. Your account is debited at the time of the order.
Globtrott Retails never sees or stores your bank card numbers. If payment is declined, the order is not confirmed.
Further details are available on the Payment page.
Article 7 — Delivery
Delivery area and methods
Products are delivered within metropolitan France. Depending on the options offered when ordering, delivery is carried out by Mondial Relay (pickup point), Colissimo (home delivery or, where applicable, collection point) or Chronopost (home delivery or, where applicable, pickup point).
Rates, estimated delivery times and the order amount above which delivery is free are shown on the Delivery page. The exact amount of the delivery charges is always displayed before payment.
Delivery times
Orders are prepared within 1 to 2 working days of payment confirmation and then handed over to the carrier. The transit time of the chosen delivery method, shown before the order is placed, is added to this.
If no date or time limit is specified, the product is delivered without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the conclusion of the contract (Article L216-1 of the French Consumer Code).
Late delivery
If the product is not delivered on the agreed date or within the agreed time limit, you may ask us, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt or in writing on another durable medium (for example, an email), to make delivery within a reasonable additional period. If delivery does not take place within that period, you may terminate the contract in the same manner. You may terminate the contract immediately if we refuse to deliver, or if the delivery date was an essential condition of the contract for you.
We will then refund all sums paid no later than 14 days after termination (Articles L216-1 to L216-3 of the French Consumer Code).
Receipt of the parcel
We recommend that you check the condition of the parcel on receipt. If the parcel is damaged, opened or incomplete, where possible record specific reservations with the carrier or pickup point and notify us promptly, with photos as evidence. These steps make it easier to process your claim; they do not reduce your rights.
Parcel not collected or incorrect address
If the parcel is returned to us because it was not collected within the period set by the carrier, or because of an incomplete or incorrect address provided when ordering, we will contact you to arrange either a new shipment, the cost of which will then be borne by you, or a refund of the order.
Transfer of risk
Any risk of loss of or damage to the products passes to you when you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier offered by Globtrott Retails, take physical possession of the products (Article L216-4 of the French Consumer Code). In the case of delivery to a pickup point, physical possession takes place when the parcel is collected.
If you entrust delivery to a carrier other than those offered by Globtrott Retails, the risk passes to you when the products are handed over to that carrier (Article L216-5 of the French Consumer Code).
A parcel lost or damaged before you take possession of it remains Globtrott Retails’ responsibility: we handle the claim with the carrier and offer you a new shipment or a refund.
Article 8 — Right of withdrawal
You have a period of 14 days from receipt of the products to withdraw from the contract, without having to give any reason (Articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code).
You may exercise this right:
- online, using our withdrawal function accessible via the link Withdraw from the contract here;
- by sending us the model withdrawal form or any other unequivocal statement, by email or by post.
The direct costs of returning the products are borne by you, unless the product is defective, damaged or not in conformity (see Article 9). We will refund all sums paid, including the initial delivery charges (up to the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered), no later than 14 days after the date on which we are informed of your decision. We may withhold the refund until we have received the products back or until you have supplied proof of having sent them back, whichever is the earlier.
Certain products are excluded from the right of withdrawal, in particular goods which have been unsealed after delivery and which are not suitable for return for reasons of hygiene or health protection (Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code).
The full conditions, the exceptions and the model form are set out on the Right of withdrawal page.
Article 9 — Legal guarantees
Principle
As the seller, Globtrott Retails is bound by the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and by the legal guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). These guarantees apply irrespective of any commercial guarantees offered by manufacturers.
How to make a claim
To exercise a legal guarantee, contact us by email at contact@globtrottretails.fr or using the contact form, stating your order number, the product concerned and a description of the defect, with photos if possible. We will tell you how to proceed.
Where the product is not in conformity, the costs of return and reshipment are borne by Globtrott Retails.
Manufacturer's commercial guarantee
Some manufacturers offer a commercial guarantee. Its terms are those set by the manufacturer. It is in addition to the legal guarantees and does not replace them.
Information on the legal guarantees
The consumer has a period of two years from delivery of the goods to obtain the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity in the event of a lack of conformity appearing. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity and not the date on which it appeared.
Where the contract for the sale of the goods provides for the supply of digital content or a digital service on a continuous basis for a period of more than two years, the legal guarantee applies to that digital content or digital service throughout the intended period of supply. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or digital service and not the date on which it appeared.
The legal guarantee of conformity entails an obligation for the trader, where applicable, to supply all updates necessary to keep the goods in conformity.
The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of the consumer's request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to the consumer.
If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the initial guarantee.
If the consumer requests repair of the goods but the seller imposes replacement, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for a period of two years from the date on which the goods are replaced.
The consumer may obtain a reduction in the purchase price while keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and obtain a full refund against return of the goods, if:
1° The trader refuses to repair or replace the goods;
2° The repair or replacement of the goods takes place after a period of thirty days;
3° The repair or replacement of the goods causes major inconvenience to the consumer, in particular where the consumer definitively bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the costs of installing the repaired or replacement goods;
4° The lack of conformity of the goods persists despite the seller's unsuccessful attempt to bring them into conformity.
The consumer is also entitled to a reduction in the price of the goods or to termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination of the contract. The consumer is then not required to request the repair or replacement of the goods first.
The consumer is not entitled to termination of the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period during which the goods are immobilised for the purpose of their repair or replacement suspends the remaining period of the guarantee until the restored goods are delivered.
The rights mentioned above result from the application of Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code (code de la consommation).
A seller who, in bad faith, obstructs the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to up to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects pursuant to Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code (code civil), for a period of two years from discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or to a full refund against return of the goods.
Article 10 — Liability
Globtrott Retails is automatically liable to you for the proper performance of the contract. It may be exonerated from all or part of its liability if it proves that the non-performance or improper performance is attributable to the customer, to the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party to the contract, or to force majeure (Article L221-15 of the French Consumer Code; Article 1218 of the French Civil Code).
We recommend that you use the products in accordance with their intended purpose, their instructions and the manufacturer's warnings.
Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you derive from the legal guarantees or from the mandatory provisions of the French Consumer Code.
Article 11 — Personal data
The data collected when you place an order are necessary for its processing. Their use and your rights are described in our privacy policy. The use of cookies is explained in our cookie policy.
Article 12 — Intellectual property and trade marks
The website's own elements (texts, layout, the Globtrott Retails name and logo, photographs taken by us) are protected. Any reproduction without prior written authorisation is prohibited.
The trade marks and product names mentioned on the website belong to their respective owners. Globtrott Retails, an independent reseller of genuine products, uses them solely to identify and describe the products it sells. Globtrott Retails is not an official distributor, partner or agent of these brands, and is neither sponsored nor endorsed by their owners.

Article 14 — Consumer mediation
In accordance with the provisions of the French Consumer Code on “the consumer dispute mediation process”, after contacting us and if our reply is not satisfactory, you may refer the matter, free of charge, to a consumer mediation procedure with:
CM2C — Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris
Tel.: 01 89 47 00 14
Website: https://www.cm2c.net/declarer-un-litige.php
Email: litiges@cm2c.net
Before referring a dispute to the mediator, you must first have attempted to resolve it directly with Globtrott Retails by means of a written complaint. The request for mediation must be submitted within one year of that complaint. The mediator may not examine a dispute that has already been examined, or is being examined, by another mediator or by a court (Article L612-2 of the French Consumer Code).
Recourse to mediation is optional. It does not deprive you of the right to bring the matter before a court.
Article 15 — Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law.
Failing an amicable solution, the dispute will be brought before the competent court. In addition to any of the courts having territorial jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure (Code de procédure civile), you may, at your choice, bring proceedings before the court of the place where you resided at the time the contract was concluded or the harmful event occurred (Article R631-3 of the French Consumer Code).
Article 16 — Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is declared void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in force.
Globtrott Retails may amend these Terms at any time. The Terms applicable to your order remain those you accepted when placing it.
